1. Information We Collect

True File Locker is designed with privacy as a core principle. We do not collect:

• Personal information (name, email, phone number)
• File contents or metadata
• Passwords or encryption keys
• Usage analytics or telemetry
• Location data
• Device identifiers for tracking purposes

2. How Your Data Is Protected

All files imported into True File Locker are encrypted using AES-256-GCM encryption with per-file random initialization vectors. Your encryption key is derived from your password using PBKDF2-SHA256 with 600,000 iterations and is never stored on disk — it exists only in memory while the app is unlocked.

Cryptographic salts and authentication tags are stored in your device's hardware-backed Android Keystore, which provides tamper-resistant secure storage.

3. Data Storage

All data is stored locally on your device:

• Encrypted files are stored in the app's private directory, inaccessible to other apps
• Encrypted metadata (file names, types, sizes) is stored in the app's local storage
• Cryptographic material (salt, auth tag) is stored in Android Keystore

No data is transmitted to external servers, cloud services, or third parties.

4. Third-Party Services

True File Locker uses Google AdMob for displaying advertisements. This is the only third-party service used by the app. Google AdMob may collect and process the following information:

• Advertising ID — Your device's advertising identifier for ad personalization
• Device information — Device model, OS version, screen size, and language
• IP address — Used for approximate location-based ad targeting (country/region level)
• Ad interaction data — Information about ads viewed and interacted with

This data is collected and processed by Google according to Google's Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites or apps that use their services.

You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting your device's Settings > Google > Ads and enabling "Opt out of Ads Personalization".

We do not share any of your encrypted files, passwords, or personal data with Google or any other third party. AdMob operates independently and has no access to your vault contents.

5. Permissions

The app requests the following permissions:

• Storage/Media access — To import photos, videos, and files into the encrypted vault
• Internet — Required for displaying advertisements via Google AdMob

6. Data Deletion

You can delete all your data at any time through Settings > Clear All Data. This permanently deletes all encrypted files, metadata, and cryptographic material from your device. Uninstalling the app also removes all stored data.

7. Children's Privacy

True File Locker does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13. The app does not require account creation or any personal information to use.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
